Belinda specialises solely in employment law with wide experience of both contentious and non-contentious matters. On the non-contentious side, as well as advising on contracts of employment, staff policies and procedures, and TUPE transfers, she also provides in-house training on a variety of topics useful to both managers and HR professionals. She deals with all aspects of employment litigation, including claims for unfair/wrongful dismissal, redundancy, discrimination, and is an experienced advocate in the employment tribunals.Belinda lectures widely on various aspects of employment law and has been invited to address members of professional organisations.

Emma joined the firm in 1990 becoming a partner in the commercial department in 1993. Building on her previous experience of the industry acquired within the legal department of a leading UK corporation, she developed a strong sense of commercial strategy, which she has, throughout the years, combined with her in depth experience of a broad range of corporate and commercial transactions. Emma deals with acquisitions and disposals of companies, businesses and assets and all related issues including transfer of undertakings and employee relations, pension rights preservation, Data Protection Act compliance and documenting funding arrangements. Her aim in all deals - whether large or small - is to implement the client's commercial objectives by the most efficient means possible. She also has experience of a wide range of commercial agreements including security documentation, partnership deeds, shareholder agreements, joint ventures, terms of business, franchising agreements, agency and distribution agreements, guarantees, powers of attorney, insolvency related agreements and all forms of company secretarial documents.

Simon Halberstam was admitted in 1988, became a specialist IT Lawyer in 1991, and joined the firm in March 1999 as a partner and head of the IT department. He specialises in all aspects of contractual and litigation matters relating to IT and e-commerce, acting not only for IT clients such as software houses, ISP's, Domain Name registrants and web designers, but also for many corporate and general business clients who need specialist assistance in this particular field. His expertise covers the whole range of computer law services and internet law services to include in-house training, documentation packages and videos, legal audits. Simon was a key player in the Millennium countdown, was the legal advisor to the BSI and the NHS on Year 2000 issues and the author of two major publications on the subject.

Protecting Ideas and Identity on the Internet

Jonathan was called to the Bar in 1982 and specialises in all aspects of intellectual property law, including patents, trade marks, designs, copyright, passing off/ unfair competition, trade secrets and other confidential information; particular interest in European aspects. Competition and free trade law - UK, EU and international competition (antitrust) and free trade law, particularly relating to intellectual property, IT and telecoms, vertical agreements, franchising and R&D. Also matters relating to IT, the internet and telecoms, including contractual disputes, data protection & privacy, IP, competition and regulatory matters. He was appointed a WIPO panellist for domain name disputes in 2000 and Nominet expert in 2001.
