Where is System i heading?

Guy England System i5 Business Unit Executive IBM Systems Group

 

Guy England is the Business Unit Executive for System i.  Guy has spent many years in sales and product management for the AS/400 and System i including 6 years in Rochester Minnesota.   He is now responsible for the UK's sales, marketing and technical teams.   Guy can relate the technical positioning of the System i product to the marketplace it is currently addressing

On Demand in the System i world                  

Nigel Adams UKISA System i Product and Sales Programme Manager.

 

Nigel Adams is UKISA iSeries Product and Sales Programme Manager and has worked for IBM for over 25 years. During that period he has been involved with most of the Rochester products including System/3, System/32, System/34, System/36/, System/38, AS/400 and iSeries.  In the mid 1980s Nigel spent three years working in the International Technical Support Centre in Rochester supporting the System/36 from its announcement. In the early 1990s Nigel was responsible for producing the AS/400 System Handbook and AS/400 System Builder which have become essential reference documents for the system. For the last 8 years Nigel has been the Product Manager for the AS/400 and now for the iSeries in the UK and latterly across the EMEA Northern Region. In this role Nigel supports IBM sales and technical people and Business Partners in selling and supporting the iSeries. A major part of his role is communicating new hardware and software announcements to these audiences as well as to customers.

For two weeks every year, Wimbledon requires an infrastructure capable of supporting half a million spectators, half a billion TV viewers, 5 million unique visitors to its web-site and the requirements of the world's media.This unique capability is provided by IBM, who work with Wimbledon throughout the year to drive the business and IT strategy, and provide the technical infrastructure that supports the Championships.  Bill Jinks, the IBM lead technical architect, will describe how IT is used to transform the way the club and Championships operate and delivers improvements year-on-year

Andy Weir Lakeview Technology Country Operations Manager for the United Kingdom, Ireland and South Africa

 

Andy Weir has more than 22 years of industry experience. Before joining Lakeview he was Technical Director at REAL Solutions, a Lakeview business partner. Before that Andy spent 14 years at Kwik Save (now part of the Somerfield Group), one of the United Kingdom’s largest food retailers. At Kwik Save, he served as the technical support manager and infrastructure systems manager, overseeing IBM® iSeries, pSeries and Intel infrastructures, as well as MIMIX high availability solutions, within their environment.
